Seminaries, organized ritual and ecclesial hierarchies are far from your mind. What floats YOUR boat is theology that’s as free from the usual institutional trappings as can be. With that in mind, Warehouse Theology brings you your customizable....
"CONCIERGE OF FAITH"
Designed to help you access theology in non-institutional ways. Directly. Non-doctrinally. At a high intellectual level. Quality, yes! Pontification, no! If you know us already, skip the rest of this page and jump ahead right here.
Who are we to offer such a thing?
In a nutshell, we're accredited theologians and intellectual coaches. We have plenty of both: professional standing and street cred! We know church and non-church spirituality inside out. Academically, we are qualified quite literally at the highest levels (mostly Ph.D.) and happy to document it. We teach, we learn, we challenge, we disagree, we coach, we research for you!
Something we don't do: Defend this or that doctrinal statement to satisfy institutional demands. Good interpretation beats doctrine any day. Does that make us out-of-control reconstructors? No!. Deconstruction is fine (and necessary) - but it’s not enough. Our holy grail? To be CONstructive - which means above all else: To be the best possible interpreters. Of events. Scripture, Culture. People. Lives. To be human is to interpret - literally 24/7. Nothing less!
Our story
Architects of the highly visionary three-year concept, the Twin Cities School of Theology (Minneapolis, 2014-2017)
Long track record of teaching and published research in universities, seminaries and all kinds of diverse churches and settings in various countries, including the US, of course
Developers of decidedly contextual theological content
Proven decentralizers of theology
Unconstrained by specific denominational, doctrinal or other commitments - and especially happy to serve people of differing theological persuasions and backgrounds
Not objective (no-one is, thankfully!), but extremely committed to intellectual integrity and interpretive quality. (PS: If humans were objective, we would be robots - incapable of change! Not exactly our idea of heaven on earth.)
Embracers of cultural and intellectual diversity, even to the extent of taking our students abroad (Turkey, Morocco, the Caribbean, Germany, England)
Well connected and published in the world of mainstream theological scholarship
We the people (just kidding)
